Dr. Resmi S., a post-doctoral researcher at the Botanical Survey of India, Coimbatore, has been awarded the prestigious Dr. C. Chandrasekharan Memorial Endowment Award. This award, instituted in memory of KFRI’s first director, recognizes her outstanding contributions to plant research and conservation.

Dr. Resmi has conducted extensive research on Kerala’s diverse plant species, with a particular focus on the conservation of forest ecosystems. Her groundbreaking work continues to inspire efforts towards preserving Kerala's rich biodiversity.

The award ceremony began with a warm welcome from Dr. T. V. Sajeev, Chief Scientist at KFRI and was presided over by our esteemed Director, Dr. Kannan C. S. Warrier. Dr. V. Anitha, Research Coordinator, gave an insightful introductory speech, reflecting on the remarkable legacy of the late Dr. C. Chandrasekharan, the founding director of KFRI.  The commemorative lecture was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) P. Indira Devi, ICAR Emeritus Professor and former Director of Research, who also presented the award.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. V. B. Sreekumar, Principal Scientist, acknowledging the contributions of all attendees and the continued efforts of young researchers like Dr. Resmi in the field of forestry.

This award is a testament to the vision of Dr. C. Chandrasekharan and the exceptional work being carried out by young researchers in the field of forestry.
