Technical Training Workshop on Certification for Medicinal Plants

The Extension and Training Division of KFRI, in collaboration with the Quality Council of India (QCI), New Delhi, organized a Technical Training Workshop on Certification for Medicinal Plants on the 24th and 25th of February 2025 at KFRI, Peechi. The Regional cum Facilitation Centre (RCFC) and the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) were also part of this workshop.
This workshop was a key initiative under the Voluntary Certification Scheme for Medicinal Plant Produce (VCSMPP), aimed at enhancing awareness, ensuring quality standards, and promoting sustainable practices in the cultivation and trade of medicinal plants.
Senior officials from QCI, NMPB, and RCFC attended the program, sharing valuable insights and technical expertise. The two-day sessions focused on the certification process, best practices for sustainable harvesting, and strategies to improve the market value of certified medicinal plants.
KFRI continues its commitment to fostering responsible management of medicinal plant resources and supporting the livelihoods of local communities.
