Dr. T. K. DHAMODARAN Scientist F has three decades of research experience in KFRI in Wood Science and Technology. He contributions are in value added utilization of rubber wood, coconut wood, eucalyptus wood, acacia wood, juvenile teak wood, bamboo, rattan (cane) and coconut shell. He has contributed substantially in developing technologies in use of bamboo for housing, technology for pollution-free charcoal production, down-scaled technology for small scale production of granular coconut shell activated carbon, preservative treatment technology for perishable timbers, bamboo and cane and oil curing technology for improved skin colour, durability to rattans and colouring of bamboo slivers using natural dyes.
