KFRI Long-Term Monitoring Programme (Permanent plots)
KFRI maintains large number of permanent plots of varying size (0.1 ha to 10 Ha.) in major forest ecosystems of Sothern Western Ghats. We are monitoring more than 43000 tagged and identified woody individuals for their
carbon sequestration potential over a period of time. Our long-term monitoring programme through permanent plot covers forest ecosystems like mangrove, dry deciduous, moist deciduous, semi-evergreen, evergreen, and
shola-grasslands. The programme also intended to elucidate the vegetation dynamics of these systems in changing climate.
