Mammals are higher group of vertebrate animals. In Kerala 149 species of mammals have been reported. Out of these 14 are endemic to Western Ghats region. The species are arranged under families or sub families. For each species, habit habitat, status, distribution in Kerala and outside Kerala and sources are given. This publication being a complete inventory of mammals in Kerala will be very much useful to understand mammalian diversity for research and conservation purposes.
