Dr. Syam Viswanath has around 26 years of forestry research experience in Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), MoEF &FCC as Scientist. Worked in various research Institute of ICFRE like Tropical Forest Research Institute (TFRI), Jabalpur (1992-99), Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB), Coimbatore (1999-2003), Institute of Wood Science and Technology (IWST), Bangalore (2003-18). Specialization in Agroforestry and related socio economic and ecological research. Completed 10 externally aided research projects and 8 internal projects in ICFRE. Guided 15 students for Ph.D. Consultant for UNIDO on bamboo. Courtesy Professor in SFRC, University of Florida USA in Agro Forestry and Guest Faculty in Azim Premji University Bangalore on Bamboo. More than 100 research publications and 6 books. Has focused primarily on traditional Agroforestry across India during the stint in ICFRE. Since past 10 years there has been a lot of research focus on Bamboo and Sandalwood. Cur
