Dr. Muktesh Kumar

Dr. M. S. Muktesh Kumar, Scientist F joined KFRI on 18-09-1980. His areas of research include: Bamboo Taxonomy & Ecology: (Diversity, distribution, Revisionary studies, Tropical Bamboos, Conservation), Orchid Taxonomy & Ecology: (Diversity, distribution, Revisionary studies, Tropical Orchids, Conservation) and Macrolichens and Epiphyte Communities: Tropical Forests Western Ghats (Taxonomy, Diversity, distribution Ecology, Conservation). Dr. Muktesh Kumar has a wide professional experience including ; Implementation of research projects in Forestry Research with special reference to tropical forestry for the last 30 years including floristic studies, taxonomy, Inventory, ecology and biodiversity conservation, germplasm survey, collecting and characterization of tropical plants, Preparation of an INBARIS bamboo database for INBAR, Beijing and also a project on documentation and selection of potential species of bamboo in handicraft industry for UNDP.
