Abstract

As a part of the herpetological survey in Kerala part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, the Muthanga Range of Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary was covered for reptiles. During the survey, the Nalloor Vayal in the area was found to have a number of specimens of Mubuya allapallensis which differed from the Little Skink in having a united fronto-parietal shield. The present observation of M. allapallensis in Nalloor Vayal in Muthanga, Wayanad is the first record of its occurence in Kerala and extends the range further south in Western Ghats
