Abstract
Floristic studies in Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary and Periyar Tiger Reserve, two protected areas in Idukki district of Kerala state, resulted in the findings of 12 species of grasses as new records to Kerala out of a total of 210 grass species collected. The previously unrecorded species were Brachiaria brizantha, Chloris roxburghiana, Chrysopogon velutinus, Dimeria fuscescens, Enneapogon schimperanus, Enteropogon monostachyos, Eragrostis diplachnoides, Oplismenus undulatifolius, Oropetium thomaeum, Setaria geniculata, Tragus roxburghii, and Tripogon pauperculus
