The present paper is the outcome of a study to findout the soil nutrient reserves of a degraded tropical moist deciduous forest at Nilambur in Kerala. The study reveals a relatively high reserve of nitrogen and potassium at the experimental site while that of phosphorus, calcium and magnesium were found to be very low
