Abstract

Rubber wood has emerged as an important industrial raw material. To conserve the natural forests and also to improve the economy of the country, this major resource should be put to effective use. In this context, it is imperative to know the technical properties of rubber wood. Also, as rubber wood is a perishable timber, it has to be properly processed. As this ecofriendly timber has great export potential, the specification requirements it has to comply with should be clear.
