Abstract
Mixed multiple and single perforation plates were observed in 4 species of Calamus (C. hookerianus, C. pseudotenuis, C. thwaitesii and C. travancoricus) from the Western Ghats, Kerala. Five other species (C. dransfieldii, C. gamblei, C. metzianus, C. rotang and C. vattayila) exhibited only single perforation plates. Two species (C. pseudotenuis and C. travancoricus) also occasionally exhibited reticulate perforation plates
