Abstract
During 1988-89 a sample survey was conducted to estimate the volume of growing stock of trees in the homesteads of Kerala. It was found that a large number of trees of different species are grown: coconut, jack, mango and cashew being the more common species. The estimated number of trees in the homesteads is 347. 23 million. The supply of wood from homesteads, including coconut wood, accounted for 80 per cent of the wood supply in Kerala
