Abstract

If the large quantity of seeds produced during gregarious flowering is stored properly they can be used for raising planting stock in the subsequent years, at least upto about three years. If seeds are collected at the appropriate time and some attention is given in choosing the storage containers and method of storage bamboo seeds can be stored atleast for three years without losing viability. A simple and cheaper method of storing the seeds over desiccants like calcium chloride at room temperature (25-33degree C) was found promising
