The current status of forest tree pathology in India is reviewed. The application of advances in seed technology to improve the quality and production of tree seeds is advocated. The following areas of research with regard to tree seeds are reviewed in relation to seed pathology: seed collectingseed storageseed health testingseed treatmentand seed certification.
