Abstract
The entomogenous fungi Paecilomyces farinosus and P. fumosoroseus were observed causing mortality to pupae of Eligma indica, a defoliator of Ailanthus triphysa, in IndiaP. fumosoroseus is recorded from E. indica for the 1st time in India. Laboratory studies showed that P farinosus was more effective in causing mortality than P. fumosoroseus. Aerospora studies conducted in 4-year-old plantations of A. triphysa indicated that the spores of Paecilomyces occurred from September to December, which coincided with the peak incidence of the pest. Conidial germination after 24 h at 50 RH was reduced
