Abstract
Although rubber wood Hevea brasiliensis, possesses several desirable properties, it is a non-durable species. The decay resistance of rubber wood against Gloephyllum trabeum and Polyporus versicolor, a brown rot and a whit rot fungus has been reported. The accelerated laboratory tests as outlined in ASTM standards and adopted by other workers were carried out. The mean weight loss was found to be above 45 percent, classifying the rubber wood as 'non resistant'
