Abstract

Botanical researches on trees can obviously find practical application in Forestry since the latter mainly deals with wood and timber-yielding tree species. In this paper author has indicated how basic research in different specializations of botany, viz. systematic botany, plant introduction, wood anatomy, forest and wood genetics, tree physiology and plant pathology can be practically applied in Indian Forestry for optimizing tree and forest productivityin the country
