Abstract

The concentration of auxin available to tissues can have a determining effect on growth and differentiation. The effect of growth regulators (AA&IAA) on germination and growth of seedlings of Abelmoschus esculentus Moench was studied by presoaking treatments. The growth in length was much affected inhypocotyl, rather than that of radicle in most cases. The growth pattern was mostly inconsistant. As the number of soaking treatments increased, a better growth in length was observed. The increase of soaking time and sequence resulted in a retardation of growth, may be due to the cumulative effect of hormons used
