250 plant species have been found as endangered on a world scale, about 4 percent of which constitutes Pteridophytes and Gymnosperms, the rest are Angiosperms. Dendrobium pauciflorum, Diplomeris hirsuta, Hubbardia heptaneuron, Paphiopedium druryi, Ulmus wallichiana are reported as endangered from India
