Abstract

This short communication reports the occurrance of stripednecked mongoose Herpestes vetticollis vetticollis Bennet in the Periyar Tiger Reserve. An instance of two stripednecked mongoose scavenging the meat of a two day old tiger's kill of a sambar deer is reported from Periyar Tiger Reserve
