Abstract

Six-month-old seedlings of ipil ipil (Leucaena leucocephala) var. 28 were planted out at Nilambur, Kerala in July 1981 and fertilizer treatments were applied in furrows around each plant in Sep. 1981. Height was measured for 18 months and shoot fresh wt. was determined after 2 yr. Untreated plants yielded 5. 11 t/ha. Farmyard manure (2000 g/plant), rock phosphate (100 and 150 g/plant) and lime (100 and 150 g/plant) gave yields of 20. 22, 5. 37, 8. 25, 9. 53 and 13. 37 t/ha, respectively
