Abstract

A survey of E. grandis and E. tereticornis nurseries during 1979-82 showed the most prevalent diseases to be pre- and post-emergence damping-off, web blight and seedling blight in seedbeds and stem canker, leaf and shoot blights and Phaeoseptoria eucalypti leaf spot in container plants. Cylindrocladium spp., Rhizoctonia solani and Pythium spp. were the main serious pathogens. Damping-off and web blight caused by R. solani, damping-off by P. myriotylum and P. deliense, seedling blight by C. camelliae leaf and shoot blights by C. clavatum and seedling wilt and root rot by Sclerotium rolfsii are new pathogen records for Eucalyptus
