Abstract

The paper describes symptomatology of blister-bark disease of Casuarina equisetifolia, morphology of the pathogen Trichosporum vesiculosum and its similarity to the type description of the fungus. Malt extract agar was the best medium for sporulation and radial growth. Artificial inoculation trials confirmed the pathogenic nature of the fungus by producing typical symptoms and tree mortalities. The paper also highlights lacunae in knowledge of the disease
