Abstract

[See FA 42, 2693] Aqueous solutions of various herbicides were infused into trees in a 32-yr-old plantation using a cheap injection technique developed earlier. The best results were obtained with 600 ml Sencor (metribuzin) at 0. 25 percent a.i. which caused heavy defoliation of the parasite (D. falcata var. pubescens) after 2 wk and was not toxic to the host. In contrast, Cupric Sulphate and 2, 4-D were toxic to both host and parasite
