Abstract

Plots in Nilambur Forest Division (Kerala) were given 1 of 3 treatments: slash burning as usual, with material of diam. 10-30 cm uniformly spread over the plot and burnedslash 10 cm in diam. distributed and burnedor controls with no slash left on site. Bare-rooted E. tereticornis seedlings were planted out in July 1982 and their mortality monitored at monthly intervals for 6 months.
